BUILD YOUR OVERHEADS & LOBS

Turn, track, place.

A lob becomes easier when you turn early, track it with your feet, and choose a safe target before you swing.

What this drill builds

Move back early, set your feet, and place a controlled overhead instead of rushing a winner.

Set up

One partner sends high, playable lobs. The other begins near the kitchen line and works on the first move back.

Make the rep useful

Common miss: Staring straight up while backpedaling.

A good rep: You can set your feet before contact on most playable lobs.

The takeaway

Reading a lob early gives you enough time to set your feet and turn an emergency overhead into a controlled, useful shot.
